The Right to Abortion Project: Coming Together to Improve Culturally Safe Abortion Care for Indigenous Women, Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ People in Canada
This research project was funded by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council’s (SSHRC) Race, Gender and Diversity Initiative (2021-22 Competition). Co-led by Renée Monchalin, Astrid V. Pérez Piñán, Abortion Support Services Atlantic, ekw'í7tl doula collective, Northern Manitoba Abortion Support, and Northern Reproductive Justice Network, the goal of this grant is to build on existing community knowledge and strengths, advance knowledge around, and remove barriers to abortion services for Indigenous Women, Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual, plus (LGBTQIA+) People in Canada.
